So, how busy is the market really? Easter was very quiet and many of us thought this was going to be it, fallen off the ledge, a desert in front of us with the odd buyer as an oasis in the distance.

These last 2 weeks however have certainly bucked that trend and altered the thinking of the ones of us left here! This is the case further North in Almeria as well. Seemingly quite a few interested parties are looking, and heirin lies the problem.

British holiday home buyers have so much choice, they often go back home having bought nothing. Or they find exactly what they want and are then disappointed when the owner wont accept their offer.

Not all sellers HAVE to sell. Yes, many are distressed, the bank breathing heavily down their necks, but this means any buyer wanting a deal has to make compromises in the property. It may ne be in their exact desired location, or quite the vew they are after.

Luckily for us, the Spanish seems to be out in force and buying up many units that are unwanted. From small apartments to huge villas, hotels and unsold developments, there is definately movement and sales, BUT many buyers are striking good deals.

The Spanish have a different mentality in buying. More often than not, they research budget and fit a property to it, making compromises along the way.

So has the market turned? Are we going to stabilize?? Sadly I dont think so. There is a long way to go to stability and prices still have to fall somewhat and stop before foreign buyers have a true confidence in purchasing.

And the media has to find something else to bash, or alternatively, report some good news for a change!!
